Pumpkin Jello

Halloween is here and to celebrate I made this seasonal jello with canned pumpkin, cinnamon and cool whip. Happy Halloween everyone!

Swedish Fish Jello

My mother gave me this mold a while ago and it always reminded me of a Swedish Fish.  So I was inspired to make this jello recreation of the candy in classic cherry flavor.

Mimosa Jello

Claire’s annual birthday brunch was a hit this year and so was my Mimosa Jello made with OJ and an entire bottle of champagne. Happy Birthday Claire!

Pineapple Jello

Marty is extra excited about this gelatinous pineapple replica made with pineapple and lime jello and crushed pineapple.  Rebecca found this mold in upstate NY and gave it to me. Thank you Rebecca. Pineapple is the symbol of welcome. In this case welcome to Fall.

Cherry Cream Jello

Rebecca C hosted a brunch in which I served little cherry cream jellos singles made with cherry jello and sweetened condensed milk, topped with powered sugar.  I also served a large version of the Coffee Kahlua jello that Rebecca K couldn’t wait to cut and serve.

Coffee Kahlua Jello

I ordered a baker’s dozen of these little molds specifically for this jello recipe.  Instant coffee, sweetened condensed milk, and Kahlua make up these small but very rich mini jellos topped with whipped cream and shaved chocolate. The recipe for this appears in my book, Hello Jell-O!

Strawberry Shortcake Jello

This jello is more cake than jello. Its an angel food ring sunk down in mashed strawberries and strawberry jello.  A slice is topped off with a dollop of whipped cream.

Peaches & Cream (with Schnapps)

John and Lans enjoy my Peach Schnapps Jello at a Labor Day BBQ.  This Jello is composed of Peach jello with canned peaches and Schnapps on the top layer and sweetened condensed milk on the bottom layer.

Stained Glass Jello

Laura (aka Lil Mama) brought this recipe to my attention. Its is constructed of blocks of strawberry, lime, and blueberry Jello suspended in a mixture of Knox and what I consider to be God’s gift to gelatin: sweetened condensed milk.  MmmMmm! Expect more sweetened condensed milk jellos because it’s really very amazing.

Joys of Jell-O

My parents found this vintage gem of a recipe book for 50 cents at a library sale in Virginia. The Joys of Jell-O, circa 1960-something, proves that people in the 60s had some funny ideas about food (as well as a kitschy aesthetic for food photography).  The book contains the usual, some silly (re: Birthday […]

Sparkling Champagne Mold

In an effort to make more ‘from scratch’ jello recipes I’ve employed Knox unflavored gelatine to make this mold with ginger ale, champagne, sliced strawberries, and grapes.

Blueberry Yogurt Jello

This blueberry jello mold with blueberries and vanilla frozen yogurt was a hit with the kids a pool party (and a nice compliment to the pool itself).

Gold Fish Jello

Kelly takes a poke at this gold fish Jello mold made with orange Jello, orange sherbet, mandarin oranges and a one blueberry eyeball.

Orange Spice Jello

This zesty recipe has a unique flavor that made it a sell-out hit at game night with friends this week. It is made with orange gelatin, peaches, cinnamon, cloves, vinegar, and rum. Yum! The recipe for jello mold will be included in my new book, but I have included it below so you can try it now!

Pina Colada Jello

I made this Pina Colada jello mold for Rebecca‘s birthday party. It is pineapple Jello with coconut milk and spiced rum, topped with pineapple slices and maraschino cherries. I was a little worried that it would be gross but it was absolutely yummy and a total hit! (So much so that during the party while […]

Freedom Jello

Its the 4th of July and nothing says “I love America” like a big ol’ red, white, and blue jello mold. This mold is strawberry jello with chopped strawberries, blueberry jello with blueberries, and  vanilla ice cream!

Brains!!!

Art gave me this mold with an assignment to make a mold that looked better than the one on the box. I think I succeeded. If anything this Strawberry Jello mold with chopped strawberries, Cool Whip, and a whole lotta Vodka succeeded in getting some people far drunker than they intended.

Fruit Parfait Jello

After a few practice jellos and unmolding mishaps to gruesome to show photos of, I created my first successful Jel-ring jello mold. This mold is strawberry Jello with chopped blueberries and strawberries throughout and a Cool Whip layer on the bottom.
