Blood Orange Margarita

Summer in the city can be brutal. August has brought with it a stifling heat wave that has lasted for weeks driving everyone, myself included, out of Brooklyn and onto the beach. Escape the heat with Blood Orange Margarita jello shots. Served in orange rinds, a mixture of silver tequila, triple sec, and refreshing blood orange San Pellergrino tastes just like summer and is the perfect way to enjoy booze on the beach…. just don’t drop them in the sand.

Tequila Sunrise ShotsIts hot. Its summer. Its National Tequila Day! (This Thursday July 24th to be specific). In my world, this means pretending to be poolside while sunbathing on my roof and knocking back some bright and sunny Tequila Sunrise Jello Shots!!! With all of goodness of the cocktail by the same name, its filled with gradient layers of OJ (that means you have these shots for breakfast), grenadine and loads of tequila. Enjoy the sunshine!

Margarita Jello Cactus

Spring is just now starting to show itself here in Brooklyn and Cinco de Mayo is just around the corner. Celebrate this holiday of Mexican heritage and pride with some little cactus shaped margarita jello shots. These are made with silver tequila, triple sec, and lime juice, and are garnished with a little Twizzler cactus bloom. These jello shots will be enjoyed this weekend at a Cinco de Mayo rooftop party.

The summer sun has officially risen over Brooklyn and this Memorial Day weekend was a scorcher (which meant I got in some much needed beach and biking time). To celebrate the holiday weekend and the love of the sun I made this Tequila Sunrise jello which was served at a backyard BBQ. Its gradient layers are made with real orange juice, silver tequila, and grenadine with cherries. It was delicious. Happy summer everyone!

For Cinco de Mayo this year I wanted to make something sweet but also a little spicy. This cocktail inspired jello is made with homemade jalapeño infused tequila, lime juice, and triple sec. The tangy flavor packs a hot punch. It will be served this weekend at Sarah’s housewarming “Sarah de Mayo” rooftop party. Have a safe and Happy Cinco de Mayo!
