For many, pumpkin pie is synonymous with Thanksgiving and this jello recipe was inspired by my mother’s own recipe for pumpkin pie, served every year for turkey day without fail. Its made with canned pumpkin, sweetened condensed milk and spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. A bottom “crust” is made from melted chocolate chips. This is another in a series of Thanksgiving themed jello recipes created for KitchenDaily.com. Click to read the full article and see step-by-step photos for how to create your own.

This recipe came from the classic Joys of Jell-O recipe book and boasts a new way to make the old fashioned confection. These strawberry, cherry, orange, and banana shaped candies are molded from ground coconut and almonds and are flavored with the corresponding fruit flavored gelatin. Whole cloves and mint leaves put the finishing touches on these tiny fruits. While the taste of the finished product bears little resemblance to actual Marzipan, they are sweet and yummy, especially if you like coconut, and were very fun to make.

Recently I took the Jello Show on the road to my sister Kateri‘s in Minneapolis for my niece Sydney’s high school graduation party. My sister found this sunflower mold at a thrift store and had it waiting for me. Jello’s popularity in the mid-west has never wavered since the 60′s and that was evident by its enthusiastic reception at the party. For the event I made this mint chocolate chip ice cream jello topped with sweetened condensed milk. Thank you Kateri and Congratulations Sydney!

This year for John’s 5th annual Easy Breezy Birthday Brunch I made one of the more difficult and beautiful jello creations, the Rainbow Jello mold. This classic favorite is compromised of 10 layers and 5 different flavors, each with a clear fruity layer and a creamy opaque layer of sweetened condensed milk. As you can see, John loved it and so did everyone else. The recipe for this can be found in a preview of my new book. Happy Birthday John and congratulations on another successful Easy Breezy!

Inspired by the Chinese New Year and an amazing Dim Sum meal I had this past weekend in NYC’s Chinatown, I made these mini mango pudding jellos reminiscent of the little mango puddings we had at the end of our meal. Those were shaped like Micky Mouse and Hello Kitty but I opted for a more nautical theme. I used the mango jello Janejai gave me from Mexico with sweetened condensed milk.

My sister Kateri sent me this Lobster mold and I wanted to use it right away so I made a lobster jello for yet another Scorpio birthday, Jacob’s. This orange jello lobster with pistachio D’gari jello base is actually a remake of the original jello made for the party that did not turn out looking quite as expected.

In addition to Jacob’s birthday, the party was also to celebrate Hoover’s one year anniversary of living in our Brooklyn neighborhood of Greenpoint. To commemorate the occasion I made him these little green points of pineapple jello died green with vodka and topped with sweetened condensed milk.
