Strawberry Shortcake Jello

This jello is more cake then jello. Its an angel food ring sunk down in mashed strawberries and strawberry jello. A slice is topped off with a dollop of whipped cream.

Doesn’t the cake sponge up the Jello? Is there a trick

With the jello in a separate bowl, I waited until it had thickened into a gel and then spooned it into the mold around the cake. However, the angel food wanted to float in the jello, so every ten minutes, I had to open the fridge and mash the cake back down into the jello until it set. Tricky little cake….

verrry vampire-y. love it. i’m making little honey-flans this week for girls’ book club nite. only 3 ingredients (well, 4 if you count the vanilla).
